I am not sure of the time allotted, but maybe…. On the first day of the co-op, explain what is expected with filling out the notebooking page which they will do at home during the week.

Maybe have an example notebooking page filled out to show them. They will need to have the cards to do this. Let them know they will be studying three words a week with a test on the fifth week and every four weeks thereafter. Explain that the notebooking pages are to be done before class and encourage them to add any other words derivatives they can think of using the root.

Also on this first day, you can have them cut out the flashcards I made to help them study at home. You can have them do this all at once, or you can have them cut them out as they are given each week. You might want to make a set of flashcards to use at the co-op and the students can keep theirs at home. Each week, review the words they worked on throughout the week. You can use the ERU book to provide more insight into each root. After each root, ask if anyone would like to share any derivatives they thought of in addition to the ones given.

Before dismissing, let them know the next three words they will be working with during the week and have them cut out the next set of flashcards if you are handing them out each week. During game time, the pool of roots will be getting larger. Remind them to study all the words each week at home along with their new set each week. Cynthia, thank you so much! Yes, this is very helpful. Thank you so much for sharing this!

Thank you for putting this out there to share with all. The student copies the derivatives on the left and the definition on the right. Yes, the extra lines I also added an extra page if needed are for any other derivatives they can think of or that you want them to know. Thank you so much for putting all of this together and sharing it. Thank you Yvonne for the sweet comment. It is great to know that these resources can add to your homeschool.

I hope your kids enjoy using them. A reader, Teresa, created test 7A because I did not have an individual test for words I lumped them in with the final test and she wanted a separate test for them. So, she made it and kindly shared it.

This is so awesome!
