How to use gmail as default email program

My separate Google Business account also using the Gmail client in a second Chrome tab did NOT reveal these diamonds, and as such, I cannot set my business Gmail address as the default mail handler. Anything else to check? My handler is enabled. Same here, no grey diamonds in the address bar. I, too, use G Suite Business Email, not an gmail address.

Very helpful. Had to interpret some steps but definitely put me on the right track to resolve and issue I otherwise would not have figured out on my own. The MacOS instructions assume you have the email app preconfigured.

Hence wanting to change the default to Gmail. Opening the mail app you are forced to log in to a mail service before preferences become un-greyed out.

How can I change it so that a new window is opened? In Windows 10, type default into the Windows search box and choose Default App Settings in the list of results.

As it is you open Gmail, create a new msg and add the attachment via the paperclip icon at the bottom of the msg window.

I am trying to save and send an Excel file via email. Each time I attempt to send it as an attachment it tells me " There is no email program associated to perform the requested action.

Please install an email program or, if one is already installed, create an association in the default Programs control panel". When I open up the default programs control panel, there is no Microsfot Excel there to asociate with. I also tried to load "Non-microsoft" defaults as well as custom defaults but not there either. I currently have Gmail as my email program but I can not find that to associate it with either.

I tried to access the help forum here, but go figure Please help as I have a very critical file that I need to send out for colaboration toady!
